Universal app Box is now available for #Windows 10

Boxed in? One of the biggest names in cloud storage has launched its official client for Microsoft’s latest operating system. The Box Windows 10 app is here, designed as a universal solution.

The company, which is a close Microsoft partner, announced its new app that makes accessing the cloud storage service easier for users of the new OS.

According to numbers provided by Redmond, some 110 million consumer devices and 8 million businesses are running the latest version of Windows. And the new Box app, now up for grabs on the Windows Store, provides users with a seamlessly unified experience across any Windows device.

From PCs powered by Windows 10 to smartphones running Windows 10 Mobile.

Box announced the launch of this app on its blog, while Microsoft also introduced this important arrival on the official Windows blog.

Box CEO, Aaron Levie, commented on the occasion:

“The adoption rates for Windows 10 is off the charts, and our goal is always to deliver the best experiences to our customers on whatever platform they’re using. What’s interesting is that years ago you’d have one platform and one operating system. Today, the majority of our desktop users run Windows, but when they switch to mobile most are running iOS. So the mission is to give them access to what we provide regardless of what device or what OS they’re using.”

Hopefully other companies also understand this last bit.

And soon.

This new Windows 10 app is integrated with Office, meaning users of the cloud storage service can work in Microsoft Office and have all their changed saved directly to Box — without leaving the suite of productivity applications.
