Force #Windows10 Threshold 2 To Show Up In #Windows Update

Windows 10 Threshold 2 is now up for grabs, but since the update is rolling out in waves, it is not showing up for many users just yet, forcing them to wait a bit longer.

But you can force the update to show up in Windows Update too.

Read on to find out how.

Microsoft lists three reasons why this version might not be available on PCs, and the first of these is that a system might have been updated to Windows 10 less than 31 days ago. Secondly, if users have deferred updates then it might not show up.

And the third case is if a user received Threshold 2 and removed it.

As the software titan explains:

“If it’s been less than 31 days since you upgraded to Windows 10, you won’t get the November update right away; this will allow you to go back to your previous version of Windows if you choose. After the 31 days have passed, your PC will automatically download the November update.”

Logical.

No point in making users lose the option to downgrade, those that have just made the jump.

Anyway, if you have deferred updates, or want to check if you have, then Microsoft recommends you to toggle the setting off, and the November Update will show up in the Windows Update panel.

To do so, go here:

Settings > Update & security > Windows Update > Advanced options > Defer upgrades

And then uncheck everything.

A reboot will be required for the Windows Update service to refresh, and then you can manually check for the November Update to show up on your system.
